Use of VR in training

I remember a time when the computer at home was a kind of „option: a big cost, an expense was at some point almost an indicator of social status. You could buy it, but not everyone knew how to use it. The Internet is connected by cable from a telephone socket (the youngest do not know it). . . Internet impulses. . . data packets for huge money. Today we expect more every day. More benefits, more opportunities, and all this with minimum effort.

So do we with space. The 3D dimension is first available only in cinemas, then domesticated with special glasses. Another 4D, 5D, even 7D – unimaginable dimensions, finally Full HD, 4K and so on. The resolution and thus image quality is constantly being increased, all to meet customer requirements, tempting, to be as close to nature as possible in the mapping. It would seem that the technology has already reached its peak, that there is no more. But as it turns out, you can.

VR – virtual reality – is becoming increasingly popular and accessible. The topic may not be new, but it still evokes a lot of emotions. I’m already explaining the unexplained. The creators wanted to create something innovative. The time has come to move away from improving the already perfect vision, improving stereo surround sound – these elements will improve themselves. Virtual reality is, one might say, "space”; in the field of audiovisual technology. Advertisers write about VR : eye glasses, gloves for touch. . . and right. Thanks to VR technology we can move to a different world, virtual, but created in a similar or imaginary way.

Generating images that we are surrounded by from all sides and sounds allows to disturb the consciousness – in a good sense of the word – so that the participant of the screening is convinced that he or she is actually in another dimension now. Initially, VR was an element used in computer games as the best medium to convey emotions, now it is being massively implemented in trainings. Until recently, the specialist ones – for pilots or operators of construction machines – were becoming more and more common today and in a growing range of possibilities. After all, a program or application can be written about everything, you just need to create images and come up with a script, you just need to let your imagination run wild.

It is clear that the basic assumption of VR technology is to operate in a virtual environment created by simulating the real world. In principle, every field of science can freely use this technology – architecture, archaeology, military, medicine. . . it can be exchanged for a long time.

By moving a trainee to such an alternative world, setting him/her a specific real task, maximizing his/her involvement in the exercise and focusing his/her attention on the right elements of the training. This allows us to experience what we are unable to feel, watching instructional videos or listening to lectures by even the most eminent experts. Only practice under real conditions will be better than VR, but in many cases it has an unacceptable margin of error. Its commission in real life may have irreversible, and not rarely tragic, consequences.

During the training with the participation of VR, not only the participant himself but also the observer is improving. It is possible to conduct a detailed analysis of the trainee’s actions on an ongoing basis, to verify his or her decisions and choices, which is extremely helpful in improving the training and correcting possible mistakes resulting from a lack of experience or skills – after all, it is the experience and skills that the trainee wants to gain in this particular training. This saves time and money, because performing many surgeries, whether medical or architectural, would be an extremely time-consuming and costly element of improvement, practice.

Thanks to VR technology, we can improve the skills of many participants within one element only. To transfer them to another reality, allowing them to experience a whole new quality of training.

What can we offer? Exactly innovative in the training market: first aid training in safe, virtual conditions.
